Is Saradha scam kingpin Sudipta Sen depressed and suicidal?

Attendants at Alipore Central jail are a worried lot. They have to keep Saradha scam kingpin Sudipta Sen (photographed below) under watch round the clock.
For, Sen has not only been depressed for quite some time, according to jail sources, a piece of torn blanket recovered from him indicates that he is near suicidal.
A security guard is keeping an eye on Sen 24/7 and psychiatric help too is being sought for him.
Depression is common with jail inmates, especially with those who had led a high-profile life like Sen.
And no one knows it better than Sen that unlike other accused in the scam, (read member of Parliament Kunal Ghosh and former Bengal minister Madan Mitra) it would be almost impossible for him to get a bail.
According to jail sources, Sen has not been eating well and has lost a lot of weight.
He hardly speaks and sulks in a corner of his cell throughout the day.
On an earlier occasion, Sen had injured himself by banging his head against a lock up wall.
The jail authorities have arranged for a psychiatrist’s visit to Sen’s cell.
Yet, not much improvement is visible.
Accused to have duped thousands of investors in Bengal and also in other states, there are numerous civil and criminal cases against Sen.
The Saradha scam apparently wiped out the savings of an estimated 400,000 investors in 19 districts of Bengal, many of them small and poor.
Apart from Bengal, Sen also allegedly ran similar dubious ‘businesses’ in other states of India.
