He likes to do this, sit around in the dark when it’s just warm enough not to be a nuisance, likes to soak up the stillness. So, imagine his surprise when that stillness is disrupted, when out of the black comes a figure.
If he were anybody else, he might be worried this was the Cherry County Ripper, ready to come take another victim. But Deacon knows better.
