Small College Basketball is thrilled to announce that Ellis "Sonny" Lane is the recipient of the 2025 Larry Smith Award. The award will be presented on Friday, October 31, during the SCB Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Lakeland, FL.
This is a special one, as Sonny Lane played basketball with Larry Smith at Suffolk in the 1960's, and he is the first Suffolk graduate to be named as the Winner of the Larry Smith Award. Prior to Larry's passing in October of 2024, he recommended Sonny Lane for the award that bears his name.
