So I carried on with that reimagine Suffolk House project I set myself and this is where I've ended up so far. . . This one is to the dimensions of the actual plot and I added a tower to this one. This time I've thought more about the practicalities of access to flats and the scale of each apartment within the confines of the squares and triangles forming the modules. . . There's a bit of inspiration from Giants Causeway, Odins Palace in #Asgard, as well as classic plynth mounted and tiered skyscrapers like the Empire State building and Chrysler building. . . You can't see it in these images but this development has routes cutting through it heading towards the college entrance next to it and the Fairfield. I want this to be a permeable district you might even stop to relax in to take in the courtyard, roof gardens or visit the ground level units opposed to a block you orbit. From what I see on Google maps the current building has a courtyard but it might be for services and private use. . I'm an artist not an architect so who knows if this would work in the real world or get through planning but oh well. Oh and the foreground of the 1st pic is where the current Saunsburys Local is located. Gonna keep working on this, play around with the render styles and see how I can develop this in Photoshop. But what really convinced us to go to Suffolk House is its high rating of food. The house, by the way, is nowadays known as Penang's premier mansion restaurant, and a preferred setting for intimate weddings. Booking a table online via Table App was a breeze, too! P.S. Compared to the more elaborate Muslim & Chinese houses we've previously visited around Penang, Suffolk House has a simpler Anglo-Indian style.
