I finally got round to making these florentines inspired by bake off. The florentines featured on the show looked so decadent that I couldn't resist making a vegan batch. Admittedly florentines are by their nature a tad theatrical; an amalgamation of chopped nuts and candied fruit in a buttery syrup, and this is all before you get to the thick chocolate coating. They are pure sugar and fat, but that is what makes them so alluring and ridiculously delicious.
