Street photography is powerful. So powerful it scares me a little. From what I've seen there are 2 main ways to shoot street photography: 1. Anticipate 2. React Rarely I have control over what happens around, but I can try to predict what could happen and play in advance. Both in composition and human behavior (*see the picture I posted today with the statues: I saw potential in the composition and waited for somebody so I could get the chance to shoot exactly what I had in mind). Reacting is much more difficult for me. Often I don't really feel comfortable taking pictures of people... The other day I saw two ladies sitting on a bench eating ice-cream. They had a little kid with them, in a stroller. He stared at them with one of the most powerful looks of hatred I've ever seen in my entire life, no kidding. The scene aroused my curiosity so I kept looking at them. Since I was the only person on the street they noticed me right away (not the kid though). At that point I had 2 options; ask for permission or shoot anyways. I did neither though, since I was scared of a possible negative reaction. And that was a mistake. I've started noticing that smiling helps me get better pictures and makes me braver though, so that's my tip. Thank you for being part of this journey.
