On most any year I’m in San Francisco for SantaCon with my revelrous SF friends headed by Robyn with Lori Sue, Ricky, Bill and Neil. But this year was different and I was staying local. A little over a week ago I got an invitation from the bubbly and vivacious Jessica “Sugar” Kiper Critelli. Some of you will know most likely from first season of Survivor although she’s had a number of different roles in television. She was having a Christmas party. Normally, I could have been booked for a press line but I wasn’t and I’ve been wanting to see her place and hangout with her and her family. Last night I was tired from a day of editing but managed the energy to make the party. Nick, Sugars husband, made some killer NOLA styled punch and there were goodies to munch on throughout the night. I met a lot of nice folks. After a while we gathered around the tree to do that gift swap game where you can steal someone’s gift of you like it or take a present from under the tree. Sugar had a multicolored tree BTW. There were some pretty fun gifts. When it came my turn I grabbed a small box but the small box was attached to larger pieces wrapped in the same wrapping paper. The small box turned out to be crayons and the larger piece a coloring book. If you look closely the coloring book is no ordinary coloring book. When Sugar saw my gift she broke out into laughter. She told her guests they couldn't steal my gift because it was so perfect for me. Which it was and everyone laughed. Some of the curious folks came by to peruse the pages at greater length. It was wonderful and ridiculous gift. I love it. Sugar and I got these parting shot before I left for the evening.
