Because in 1910 Dole yellow pineapple could not heat pasteurize it to “can it” (not 🚫 healthy as it kills the fruit vitality) to ship out worldwide because the white flesh is naturally creamier with no strings. When they tried, it turned to mush. It is white and Dole was having a hard time teaching people about yellow acid 🍍pineapple, and they could not throw them onto trucks because they bruised easily.
