SugarMuses Deluxe - September 2018
The theme of this box is 'Mabon'. Mabon, the autumn equinox, was just a few days ago on September 22nd and is “a time to prepare for the darker, cooler days”. This box is jammed full of items - I had a difficult time photographing them because my cats were all over me every time the box was opened.
As always we start the box off with a custom art piece, this image is of Persephone (the Greek Goddess of the Harvest).
Our first large item is this beautiful soft leather triple moon journal with unlined cream pages and hand stitching.
The incense blend hit me with a strong, powerful floral punch. It has a little crystal in it and the presentation is lovely. The Yerba Santa faintly reminds me of licorice, and I like their recommendation to use it in a bath to promote beauty.
Next we have a glass candle holder to go with a sweet scented pillar candle (which is a switch-up from the glitter candles I've come to expect). The candle is rolled in dried flowers which while it is beautiful to look at, makes me wonder how well it will burn with the flower bits.
I love this month’s bath salts, it is sweet and citrusy. The description notes orange, calendula flowers, and cinnamon.
Mabon ritual spell scroll and Mabon ritual mist. The ritual mist smells like sweet licorice to me. The description lists witch hazel, cinnamon, and apple.
The Yerba Santa Incense Bundle has a light floral scent and can be used to neutralize negative energies. It is harder than other sage bundles I’ve received, and the dark parts felt sticky. The dried wheat and flower bundle smells nice, and can be used as an offering on your alter (or as decoration). Bottom right we have a Druzy Agate Occos Geode from Brazil which is over 130 million years old; it is said to balance yin and yang energy.
The pendent necklace is beautiful, with a surprising weight to it! Lovely!
Not pictured: Apple Cinnamon Incense Sticks. These are the first incense sticks I wouldn't describe as awful - but they still left me with a headache so I will be giving these away.
I cannot express how much I love these boxes. I did miss the glitter candle from this month’s box, but I love knowing that the box’s contents change; predictability can get boring. Looking forward to October’s box!
