SugarMuses Deluxe - October 2018 - Samhain

(Sorry for posting this late! Life got a little crazy this past month).

The theme of this month’s box is Samhain, and the contents of the box are as follows:

SugarMuses Deluxe - June 2018

Some of you have probably seen my cousin's posts, @dianacloudburst, she has amazingly descriptive posts about her subscription boxes (among other things). Diana inspires me in many ways - sending love your way sweetie! And damn you, now look at me. Over here with two subscription boxes of my own! I blame you completely for this 😅😘

This was my first box from SugarMuses (Deluxe box) and I was beyond thrilled during the unboxing as I inspected each item. I very quickly realized that this is a subscription I will not be cancelling anytime soon (unlike another subscription box that shall not be named). There was only one item that I did not like, and that is simply because I did not like the scent; I had zero problems with the quality of any of the items I received.

I like this ritual card, it's a heavy paper - good quality. I don't do too much with rituals at this point as I am still very much in the research/exploration phase of my spiritual journey, but I can still appreciate it, and will hold onto it for future reference.

This beautiful artwork is glossy and feels like it was printed on the same martial as the solstice ritual. I should have taken a photo that indicates it's size; I'd say it's about the size of my hand to my fingertips with my fingers fanned out. I currently live in a small 1bd apartment, so I don't have anywhere to display it right now, but hopefully that will change in the future!

Dried chamomile flower buds (not loose-leaf tea like I originally thought - glad I read the printout!).

Calendula blend, this is something I have never heard of before but am excited to use. If nothing else it looks pretty! Can be used in spells, in potpourri, or you can throw it into a fire. I'm not sure why you would do the latter, but it sounds cool.

The bottom right is a Copal Dusted Sage Bundle and Dragons Blood incense. According to the printout that came with the box, Copal is used for happiness, celebration, and purification; Dragons Blood evokes love, power, and energy - my cousin thought the Dragon's Blood incense smelled like our grandmother's closet and I can't unmake that connection now.

Bonus caramel candy and SugarMuses business card were a nice touch.

Look at this candle,✨ It ✨ Is ✨ So ✨ Sparkly ✨ !!! Like many of the products in this subscription box, it is a SugarMuses original handmade item. Yes, it smells just as good as it looks (sweet citrus). It's an organic vegan friendly soy candle, but honestly I was sold on the sparkles - beautiful!

This bath salt smells amazing with a lovely floral lemon scent, and even has some dried flowers in it! I'm very excited to use this.

Here we have two opposites. On the left, a perfume that I absolutely love - sweet and fruity. On the right, a herbal spray that I strongly dislike. It's a very musky, earthy scent that displeased my senses. That's all personal preference, I'm sure many people like that type of scent. I'm not holding it against anyone since it is the only item in the whole box I actually dislike and believe will get zero use.

This large Raw Verde Calcite came in a satin baggie. The crystal itself is over twice the size of the other smaller crystals in my collection so far, and it is a welcome addition. The printout says that calcite increases and amplifies energy; it is the perfect crystal for "when you need to make a fresh start". I'm moving next weekend so maybe I'll keep this one on me for the time being.

There was a hand carved offering bowl included, I love the coloring of this dish. I do not have an alter, both due to being in the early research stage and also due to lack of space for an alter... I will hold onto it for in the future when that might be possible. Who knows, maybe I'll get a little 'alter-on-the-go' bag together one day until I have my own room for crafting and creativity.

Last item (I know! There were so many things included in this box!) is a Quartz Crystal Geode Pendant. It didn't come with a chain, but I prefer it that way. I have very sensitive skin and would have needed to get a nicer chain for it anyways.

So there it is, the SugarMuses June 2018 Deluxe box, chalked full with 12 items. There is not a doubt in my mind that I have gotten my money's worth of if this box; I am very much looking forward to July's box.
