i want to!!! i have several wips in that universe but i just haven’t really gotten around to writing it 😭

a finally found au question that i have, that you don’t necessarily have to write about or engage with if u dont want 😂:

i imagine since reader just got out of an abusive household that she still has triggers. you know, yelling, things getting thrown or slammed… who do you think would trigger her at the compound and how would they calm her down? 🤔

alright so, i’m literally creating a backstory and a whole new universe as we go along.. also i jump between using reader and you throughout this whole thing i’m so sorry

it got abit long below the cut so here’s a condensed version:

anyone could trigger reader. because sometimes an accident could happen (someone drops a plate) that just throws her back. but also when tony and / or steve get into a shouting match. reader avoids any of stark’s parties because she does not like the smell of alcohol or drunken adults in general. the teens’ floor is always off limits during parties so she stays there with the rest and natasha always makes sure to shower thoroughly to get rid of any alcohol smell before going to find her.

peter and wanda are the ones that calm reader down best at first. later on, it’s natasha as well and she ends up being the one you seek out. usually some sort of physical touch will ground you as well as them talking to you, be it just reassurances and promises that you’re safe or random rambling of anything.

peter and reader have known each other since they were 10. sometimes when things got bad, she would call peter to stay with aunt may and him. (and why didn’t she call aunt may instead of wanda? for the plot! no i’m jk, in that moment she thought of 2 people to help her, peter and wanda)

anyways, peter gets bitten by a radioactive spider slightly younger here, age 12. thankfully since he’s a kid his first instinct when gets powers is to yknow, tell his aunt. iron man was recently announced and all so, she brings him down to the tower. tony stark takes him in to train him with his powers and more or less takes him in.

wanda was rescued at age 12 too, so in the span of a year the team gained 2 new people. she was found at an old hydra base, with powers and badly mistreated. at this point pietro had died, so she came to the compound whilst grieving. she meets reader when she’s enrolled into the same middle school as peter and reader. they both hit it off well, bonding over their grief and they just get along really well in general.

so, in the very beginning, usually peter and wanda could calm reader down. she’s okay with being held by them and that’s what works usually, because soft touch grounds her.

maybe someone drops a plate when cooking, the noise startles reaser and she tenses, preparing herself for a outburst from her adoptive dad. she doesn’t even realise that her breathing has gotten heavier, but wanda and peter who had been sitting with her watching a movie is quick to jump into action. after asking r’s permission, wanda will hold her hand, and talk her through a breathing exercise. peter usually rubs your back and talks about random things to avoid silence. between the two of them, they manages to regulate reader’s breathing and get her to calm down.

obviously as time goes on and reader starts to trust natasha more, natasha is also very good at calling her down. maybe this time, the team was discussing mission details in the common room. tony and steve start to butt heads and there’s a shouting match. suddenly you’re no longer at the tower. you’re back in the old apartment, hiding away as your adoptive father and his friends argue over a stupid reason.

natasha quickly shuts the two man up before going to reader. at this point, you’re curled in a ball on the ground, whimpering and crying out for tasha (afterwards you call out for mama instead)

natasha talks to you softly and gently, and once you register her voice, you’re launching yourself at her. of course, she catches you and you cling onto her tightly as she continues to sooth you. she stands up and walks to her room to give you both some privacy. once it’s just the two of you, she sings.

it does wonders at helping you calm down.

oooo that would definitely be something👀 i feel like being the scarlet witch, wanda might actually be able to sense if either of the kids were even slightly magical, but then again magic is strange so she might not 🤔

lol this makes me want to write an au of my au where the kids are actually enhanced🤣

What is the most Mama Bear thing that Natasha does on FF au?

anytime reader gets sick / injured, it’s an automatic trip to the medbay. nat takes 0 chances, even if it’s a small injury she will drag reader down to get checked. she’s super perceptive to reader’s moods as well, so she’s always there when she feels like reader needs some extra support and love.

she’d probably even turn down missions to make sure she’s in the compound at all times in case you needed her (be it physically unwell or mentally tired). it gets to a point where nick tried to intervene but even he couldn’t make nat come back to work. only when she was certain that you’d be 101% okay then she’d even consider returning back to her job. you’re always her number one priority. (tbh she probably already did this several times w yelena and maybe wanda so the team isn’t surprised but it’s definitely more amplified with you)

i've been thinking, how cute would natasha be walking out in the middle of a party and going straight to the shower, putting all kinds of creams on her body to get the alcohol smell out. when bucky or steve ask her why she did it, she says "because i wanted to sleep with my babygirls" and going to the room where reader and wanda are watching movie

yes!! she’d brush her teeth and take an extra long shower to make sure there’s no more lingering alcohol smell.

i can’t smell for shit but let’s imagine reader has a pretty sensitive nose, imagine one day natasha uses a different perfume and reader would snuggle with her but is put off by the new smell.

“mama you smell different.”

“i’m using a new perfume malyshka. do you not like it?”

and if reader doesn’t like it she’d probably give the perfume away😂

anyways, we love soft mama nat who does everything in power to make sure reader is comfortable :D

063. How well does your character handle difficult people?

perfectly 😭 natasha is strictly no nonsense and she has the patience of a saint (she does have 3 children in her care, 5 if you want to count kate & peter) and she’s great at charming & talking to people (think cw!nat.. at the end.. 😩)

but! if it’s someone that poses a threat to either one of her babies she will go full on mama bear and she will have to be held back by steve (sometimes bucky too if she’s very angry)

so, don’t mess with her kids and you’ll be fine but if you do.. good luck with that

008. What is their favorite fairy tale?

i would like to say that wanda can’t pick a favourite! she loves all kinds of fairy tales and she absolute loves to read them. one common interest between her and reader is their love for reading. it’s their way of escaping reality, so once they get more comfortable with each other, wanda loves loves loves to read bedtime stories for reader. (reader almost always pick wizard of oz, and wanda is more than happy to read it every night)

007. Is your character an optimist or a pessimist?

optimist! she has to be especially with natasha as her partner 😂 natasha (understandably) is quite constantly on edge and looking over her shoulder. if they were to bring the girls out, wanda would be more focused on how to make the trip more fun worthwhile whilst natasha would be the one worrying about safety and oh what if they had to escape rlly quickly

021. How do they display affection?

physical affection, words of affirmation and quality time!!! she loves to cuddle up with nat and/or the kids all the time. she’s always showering the kids in constant praise, reminding them how much she loves them (which especially helps reader). she also loves to spend any and all free time with her family. so she especially loves it when she, nat, the kids, pietro and yelena all come together to go out. she gets to form the memories she could only dream of during her time of capture in hydra, she gets to not only have the childhood she never had, but to give that wonderful childhood to reader and ellie too:]

062. What sort of legacy does your character wish to leave behind?

they just want to bring some goodness into the world, both of them grew up with less than ideal circumstances and were put into situations where they had to make difficult choices. they just want to make the world a safer place and they want to be people their daughters can look up to.

046. How do they handle getting sick?

they’re both extremely stubborn individuals and would refuse to ask for help at first. but they’ve gotten into a dynamic where they trust each other enough to actually allow the other to help:]

034. What’s their view of lying?

they can understand why people lie (eg when reader lied about her age, it was for protection, older = better = safer, they understood that so they didn’t hold it against her) but they generally frown upon lying, communication is important for both of them!! they’ll definitely teach reader & ellie the importance of honesty, making sure the kids know it’s a two way street by not lying to them either
