hey how do you do the changing images? thanks!
Hello! Someone else asked me this so let me get their message as well... Hopefully they meant the flippy thing.
First of all before I even begin, please do understand that this tutorial is 100000% NOT MINE. It actually belongs to sulli-ssi, but sadly her tumblr doesn't exist anymore and if she switched her URL I don't know which one it is.
I learned it from a tutorial she made and the only reason I remember is because I screencapped the instructions. Because I don't have them anymore (they disappeared with the death of my laptop) I am gonna try to make this tutorial as clear as hers was. Really it was perfect and I am so sad it's gone. ;__; I'm just glad I remember.
Let's begin!
First of all you're gonna wanna choose two images that are about the same size. I took this image from pixiv and I took a couple of the little monsters, rendered them out (not perfectly rendered, they have a white outline but I wasn't gonna spend an hour on this), and placed them in a new file.
You can try this without rendering buuuuut I find it neater. You can later add a non-moving background.
By the way, they don't have to be perfectly equal in height and width. You can still do this is they are different sizes but in my opinion it doesn't look as good. You want them to be pretty similar so when it it flips it gives a nice even look.
Place them on top of each other like so!
Next you want to duplicate each of the layers TWICE. You want there to be three layers of the same thing.
Now we want the width of two layers to be smaller. Click on one of them and press CTRL + T or simply go to EDIT > TRANSFORMATION.
There is gonna be a bunch of little boxes and the one with the width change it to 75% instead of 100%.
Click on the other layer and CTRL + T again.
Now we want to reduce the width of this one to 45%. We also want to FLIP the picture horizontally.
Repeat these steps with the other three layers with the different picture.
When you are done you should have something like this. (Of course, one on top of each other)
Now let's head down to the animation timeline! You're gonna want four frames per picture.
It should go like this!
1st Frame: 75% first picture2nd Frame: 100% first picture3rd Frame: 75% first picture4th Frame: 45% (and flipped) first picture
Then for the second set of layers with the second picture!
5th Frame: 75% second picture6th Frame: 100% second picture7th Frame: 75% second picture8th Frame: 45% (and flipped) second picture
I use PS6 so I'm not entirely certain what it's called on other PS but this is what it looks like on mine.
I put the times as 0,5s for the 100% pictures and 0,07s for the rest.
All of these layers should lie on top of each other so the result should be like this:
BONUS: Currently my background has three pictures which flip, but I could've actually added as many as I wanted. All you have to do is repeat the same steps and just add four more frames following the same instructions.
You can do this as many times as you like.
And that's it! I know I wrote a lot and it might be a bit confusing so if you guys need any help you can always ask me. Once you get the hang of it it's actually super easy.
Hope this helps!
