When Sully got home from practice, the only thing she wanted to do was flop down on her bed and never see sunlight ever again. Ever since Grima was vanquished, Frederick had asked for her help in training the new recruits and she was damn happy to help. However, she didn’t know that he “improved” the training regime for the recruits and she never thought that she could succumb to mere exercise.
After a month, she was certain that Frederick was not man, but a higher being who never felt pain or fatigue with strange sadistic tendencies.
She set down her armor and lance on the ground with a thunk! and stumbled into the bedroom, enjoying the sweet embrace of silk blankets and feather pillows.
“Sully?” Stahl’s voice floated from the kitchen into Sully’s ears and at any other time, she would be delighted to talk to her husband. But right now…
“Not now.” She mumbled. “Let me die.” She dug her head deeper into her pillow but could still hear Stahl’s laughter echo through the house and the sounds of pots and pans being set down onto the counter rang in her ear.
Before she could pester him for making noise, his head popped into their bedroom and he chuckled at the sight of Sully lying face down on their bed, hair disheveled and blatant disregard for whether her clothes were straight or not.
“I made something for you, love.”
“Later.” Sully dismissed, she was thankful for such a wonderful husband, but she would rather melt into the blankets for the time being.
When she didn’t hear anything from Stahl, she thought he left her alone but that thought disappeared from her mind when she felt him straddle her and run his fingers up her sides.
“S-stop that! Ah hah hah! S-Stahl!” She hated to admit that she was ticklish and apparently Stahl found no shame in exploiting her weakness.
“I’m not stopping until you get up!” He was laughing alongside her, it wasn’t common for him to see Sully unwind and he wanted to seize the opportunity as best as he could.
“S-stop! Mercy, m-mercy!” Sully wheezed.
“What? I can’t hear you? Speak louder, Bull!”
“MERCY!” When Stahl finally stopped and eased of her, she tried to regain her breath and sat up, not wanting to endure another tickling session.
“Will you get up now?” he asked, completely ignoring the icy cold stare his wife was giving him.
Sully sighed and grudgingly mumbled “fine,” allowing Stahl to take her hand and drag her away from the warm comfort of their bed.
“I know you’re tired and you want to rest, but I thought you would be hungry so I made you a little something.” Stahl said when they entered the kitchen.
“Muh? Stahl you don’t have to do that for…” Sully couldn’t find any words to say when she saw the food Stahl managed to prepare while she was gone. Two large bowls of stew sat on opposite ends of their small kitchen table while one burning candle sat in-between them. A single rose was also placed by where she usually sat.
“It’s kind of cheesy but I should do something for you every once in a while and-”
“I love it.”
“Huh?” Stahl almost wanted Sully to repeat what she just said to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.
“Thank you.” She said in disbelief. In all her years, Sully never thought she would see anything like this directed towards her. Sure it was a simple romantic gesture, but it was the most elaborated she’d ever seen. Apparently when she said she wanted to be treated equally, all the past men that tried to court her never thought once that it meant that they could do something remotely romantic. She liked be treated like a “lady” once in a while and Stahl was the only one who demonstrated that.
“You’re welcome.” He replied cheerfully. He did love to see Sully genuinely smile and would do everything he could to make her the happiest woman in Ylisse.
“Alright, enough with this mushy stuff. Can we eat?” She liked being treated like a "lady," but that didn’t mean that she liked the feelings that came afterwards.
“Heh, of course.” Stahl pulled out the chair for her and welcomed her to sit, if he was going to do something romantic, why not go all the way?
Midway through eating, an idea popped into Sully's head, she set her spoon down and tried to get Stahl’s attention by looking at him straight in the eyes. “Hey, you've done all of this for me, why don’t we reward you for your hard work later?”
Stahl had never eaten anything faster in his life.
