It was pretty epic running into the Darkmoon Fair with 500 fish in my pants to purchase the ray mount I’ve been drooling over for roughly a month.
I didn’t think anyone else gave a shit about it but the fair was totally empty except for the pier where EVERYONE had gathered to, essentially, grind for fish. Mine for fish, if you will.
I’m so glad that they implemented something in the game, a monthly thing, that would make people WANT to fish. Like fishing up the turtle in Northrend is a bit tiresome because you need pools but at the fair you catch the required fish with EVERY cast...provided your fishing level is high enough. How do you get it higher? You KEEP. FISHING.
I did a victory lap around the island, discovered a weird little cave full of level 100 mobs (all name Erinys), and basically gloated and yukked it up that I had the ray already. I am allowed. I’ve been waiting for this baby and I worked for it.
So I just want to say to everyone who thought fishing was dumb, pointless, unprofitable, lame, boring, and annoying:
GET. ON. MY. LEVEL.
