You should have been allowed to cope, even in a depressive episode, without your therapist using you as a means to an end. You are more than the sport you were in, and more than just a girl with a sister. You are someone trying to redefine yourself. You may be nervous, you may even feel the weight of everyone's stares as they envy you, but you deserve this time and space to figure yourself out.
