06.04.18 || 33/100 DOP The first day of my ornithology field course was spectacular! I observed 2 bald eagles, my first Eastern Kingbird, and my first Hooded Merganser! I’m meeting a lot of people on the same wavelength as me and I’m super excited for the rest of the session!

New York was fun!!! on Friday I went to the Met for the first time which was awesome—the paintings in the American Wing and the visible storage were my favorite parts, but the Heavenly Bodies exhibit as incredible. the choral music, the lighting, the Catholic imagery... my museum geek heart was in heaven (no pun intended). also that day we saw Greg Gutfeld &. Dana Perino & co. filming The Five and they waved at us and I still haven’t gotten over it

on Saturday we went to the USS Intrepid (photos to come on my space blog @gusgrissom later) and saw Dear Evan Hansen and walked the High Line through Chelsea. Sunday we walked through Central Park, saw the Sherman Monument (💕), and watched part of the Celebrate Israel parade on 5th Avenue, which was really wonderful. rainy train ride back to MD that afternoon.
