SUMMER HWANG
AGE: Sixteen COMPANY: Gaia International POSITION: Eternity’s Miss June FACECLAIM: Jeon Heejin PLAYED BY: Anna
As a child, Summer was always too excited, had her heart set on too many things to be truly good at any of them (or, as good as any six year old could be). There were too many things to try for her to settle on one, even just for more than a few weeks. She’d worked her way through karate, ballet, tap dancing, cheerleading, horseback riding and gymnastics by the time she turned twelve. Then came her spur of the moment decision that her new dream was to become a singer. Her parents, despite how fickle they knew she was, still supported it, thinking it’d pass before she’d worn scratches into her favorite CD. When she’d packed up her little suitcase two months later to declare that she would be moving to South Korea to live with her favorite cousins and become the next Juliette, they were less thrilled. They told her that if she still wanted to go in a year and passed the audition to join a company, they’d take her. Of course, they really, truly thought that she’d let it go and decide to be a dog trainer by the time the winter was over. She hadn’t, though. Two weeks turned into six, then three months, and by the time her parents realized, the day circled in bright red on Summer’s calendar had finally come. And once she passed the audition for a smaller company, they kept to their word. She trained for nearly eighteen months before leaving to join Gaia, never once losing the focus she’d found when she set her mind on becoming an idol.
Summer is still largely bubbly and excited. When she’s not working or training, she still likes to put her eggs in a lot of baskets in terms of hobbies, as proven by her abandoned candle making sets and the unused cupcake wrappers she has in the bottom of her sock drawer. But when she’s on the clock, so to speak, she’s hyperfocused on doing the best she can, almost to a fault. She doesn’t like to let herself or the people around her see her at anything but what she thinks is her best.
