changes for the little one ;;
{ they say that having a child can fix problems; people even get pregnant to try and save failing marriages or to keep their husband from leaving them. however, Grey had not planned on becoming pregnant, especially with her boyfriend in such a bad place. she couldn’t imagine him testing a bottle against his skin instead of chugging a bottle of beer, staying home and snuggling with his daughter instead of threatening to leave all the time. }
{ she wasn’t sure which would be the better option for her daughter, leaving and toughing things out on her own, or staying. }
{ she’d gone with the latter, because she couldn’t bring herself to just leave her boyfriend. despite it all, he is the father of her baby girl. }
{ a heavy sigh floats across the room as she sees the father of her child on the couch, hung over enough that she’d be surprised if he even recognized their one week old daughter. }
{ she was exhausted, her body aching as their small princess laid still in her arms, watching her dad lay on the couch. }
”Get up.”
{ her tone is rough, their one week old daughter clutched to her chest in a motherly protective way. it was the third night back from the hospital, and she’d hoped that he would have stayed sober enough to watch over Daisy so she could rest. But of course, he couldn’t be trusted to do that. }
”You’re okay with watching your daughter see you like this, Mace? What wonderful early memories you’re giving her.”
