( * & . — THE GOOD PLACE SENTENCE STARTERS / PART 2 . / ACCEPTING
@summershavok: ‘ i was a good person for six months . that’s like five years . ’
HE DOESN’T REMEMBER HIS CHILDHOOD, a causality of the brain injury he sustained as a child. he doesn’t remember those nights where he chased monsters from his brother’s closet, playing catch in the yard, or fights at the dinner table. all he remembers is holding him close as they descended from the plane, a lone parachute that came crashing down. he remembers alex trying to keep him awake, desperate not to let him close his eyes as scott complained about the headache he’d been feeling since he fell.
he doesnt need those early years’ memories, not really. because he remembers years of new memories, meeting his brother again after fearing he’d died after the crash. he knows his brother, right down to his heart he knows alex summers -- “bad” has never been a trait he’s associated with him.
❛ you’ve always been a good person, alex. you’ve just made some unfortunate decisions but no moreso than anyone else. ❜
