Business card for Jason Reynolds, proprietor of Australian independent record label Summershine, acquired sometime in the early-to-mid nineties.
This is a cool little artifact, even if I have no recollection of how I came by it. Tucked into a single we received at the radio station? Part of some international record swap? It will remain a mystery. Though this card is clearly from the time when he was still operating the label in Australia, before he moved to the U.S. to work for Sub Pop.
Anyway, I was reminded of this business card this evening via a Twitter exchange with Josh Meadows of onetime Summershine recording artists The Sugargliders and The Steinbecks. Did you know that Josh has a most excellent radio show? Definitely worth a listen.
