Summer Time Rendering Anime
After the death of his parents, Shinpei Ajiro lived with the Kofune family and their two daughters, Mio and Ushio. Although he then left his home island to continue his education in Tokyo, Shinpei returns after Ushio tragically drowns while trying to save a little girl. During the funeral, his best friend informs him of the bruises found on Ushio's neck, which casts doubt on the cause of her death. Suspecting a murder has occurred, Shinpei reassesses recent events, but strange incidents continue to occur. Disappearances of people and other unexplained occurrences lead Mio to remember an old folk tale about entities called "Shadows" which may not be entirely fantasy. Presumably, meeting with his Shadow portends the impending demise of a person. Faced with the dark side of Hitogashima Island, Shinpei confronts his grim fate in order to fulfill Ushio's last wish to protect Mio.
