What Frank had put into her mind was echoing throughout it constantly. Summer kept that smile on her face to reassure everyone that she really was okay - she got out of that with a bruised wrist when there had been others, like Merlin and his office, who hadn’t been so lucky, but she still had been hit with a bombshell. River, her River, had tried to bring Delta back from the dead. Which meant that he was probably behind one, or both, of the body snatchings. And that scared her. She wasn’t a big fan of horror movies but even she had seen enough to know that bringing someone back from the dead was a horrible idea.
And now that she was on a small break from the school, her father’s idea, she was around River a lot more and kept gazing over at him, wondering how he could have done such a thing without even telling her. It’s a good thing that she was always looking over at him anyway, it didn’t seem all that out of the ordinary. But it was bursting out of her. A secret for a secret. She was horrible at keeping them, and this seemed the best reason, the best time to come clean. He couldn’t be mad at her for keeping something, when he had been keeping in this bombshell all along, could he?
She watched him as he was tinkering on something. She didn’t ask what - she preferred to see the finished project rather than bother him with questions. But this time, she interrupted. “I was thinking about going back to the old house and packing up my things today. Do you want to come with me? We can figure out together what I should bring, and what I should get rid of.”
