One thing about the mountains is that the weather is unpredictable. You can plan your itinerary so well but sometimes the weather gets worse and you are forced to stay up there longer. This was a day before the Summit the weather was really bad and we were forced to stay a day extra in the last camp so we can attempt summit following day. Patient pays though and we made it but the 2 days spent up there were the coldest days of my life... Mt. Rwenzori last camping hut before the summit. (ELENA Hut). Most of the camping huts in Rwenzori were very well maintained and quite big. But for me Elena had nothing much to write about. The space is quite small though i came to understand later from one of the porters that not many guys who push up to Magherita peak. Maybe thats why its not in a very good shape i don’t know.
