#Repost @mforsbergphoto with @repostapp ・・・ Whooping Crane: And there he was across the meadow, standing head and shoulders above the crowd and shining like a diamond, one of the rarest birds on Earth. There are 15 crane species worldwide, and 12 are endangered. North America contains the most populous species, the Sandhill crane, and the most rare, the Whooping crane, with less than 500 birds remaining in the wild. Both species converge in Nebraska each spring. Cranes need healthy rivers, grasslands, and wetlands to survive, and so do we. Please passionately support crane conservation close to home and around the world. We need them, and they need us. #1frame4nature #conservation #platteriver #plattebasintimelapse #savingcranes #migration #protectprairie #greatplains #nebraska #rowesanctuary #summitworkshops @ilcp_photographers @plattebasin @natgeocreative
