Well, they're essentially biotech experiments (on that, can we talk about how Eclpse is the most biology savy guy in the family canopy layer?? Do you see IVO experimenting with genetics?) designed to benefit their creators, and Eclipse loves them to death even while pitching their usefulness to his higher ups (aka Black Death/Eclipse's fondly long-suffering Sun-dad)

They took little creatures and turned them into something Other, something with a purpose, **at the cost of taking them *away* from their own kind**
(Yes I am aware I am making them sound like fae of some kind)
And that's not getting into the mental manipulation (just like Gerald, which is a delightful bit of hypocrisy, given the galaxy-filament-sized chip on Black Death's shoulder regarding Gerald's MIStreatment of Shadow)

Eclipse is absolutely the most biotech savy guy in the family. -nods- dna splicing with chaos energy was what he did for the little Dark Arms. He will be very facinated to learn of human splicing methods. He is a very smart bean. ;3 Now I'm starting to think of how a conversation between Gerald and Eclipse would go.... that would be facinating honestly. On one hand, genius science talk. On another Gerald both saving and hurting Shadow? That would be an interesting conversation for sure.
