Part One - Sun It Rises

Starting off strong with the first song in the album, Sun It Rises !

Such a lovely gentle start that picks up as it moves along, with the electric guitar peeking in beside the more classic instruments.

The vocals in this one are absolutely gorgeous. One thing I adore the most in Fleet Foxes songs is the very thick layering of vocals, it makes those longer, drawn out notes sound as pure as a bird singing away on a branch.

Another thing I absolutely adore about Fleet Foxes is those total tone changes or abrupt musical shifts they do as the song progresses. I’m a HUGE sucker of those parts when the instrumental cuts out, and the vocals carry the melody UGH so good and this song just delivers that so well.

I also just absolutely love the slow layering of instruments as the song goes on, they just keep coming in one at a time and building up to the swell of the song.

This song is also absolutely perfect as the starter for the album. After hearing all the other ones, there’s no song better suited on this album to be the first played than this one.
