Designing-Business Father's Day Report
We had the luck of good weather and decided to camp at the Sun Shack for Father's day this year. After a flurry of less than exacting packing we headed down early Saturday evening so we could wake up to the sound of the waves.
Some of us woke up before others obviously. This year I thought it best that the kids start deciding exactly what they want to give Business-Papa on Father's Day. This is partly because I think they are old enough and partly because I. Just. Cannot. Come. Up. With. Any. More. Gift. Ideas. So yeah.
Well, this created a mild panic and almost sweat for Miss Lily as her decision making process is what defines a Libra personality. She practically whined that she couldn't come up with anything. But after telling her to breathe and relax she came up with the perfect idea!
Not so for eBoy. After I carefully explained to him that this year was special and blah, blah, blah, you have to decide what you want to get for Papa, his immediate response was a loud "Booze!" Let's never say this boy doesn't pay attention to his parents.
There I was at the boozeria with a 6-year-old picking out single malt. He picked it out based on "all the gold on the box" he's learned from Minecraft that gold is good, so we ended up with a 12-year-old Bunnahabhain. Miss picked out fashion flip-flops, which were sorely needed as Papa's old ones were about to give it up--the perfect summer gift!
eBoy made a picture frame in school for the two of us and my gift from them was booze oriented as well a gorgeous new Le Creuset wine opener, which I totally needed since I've been having such trouble opening bottles with the old Rabbit and a bad case of tendonitis.
We had a fantastic day on the beach, hit Fins for dinner before heading home, and I broke in the opener with a fabulous bottle of Happy Father's Day wine!
