Dear anon, here’s your request. Hopefully, I do it justice! ❤️
Beach days and Hangovers
The sun was warm on your face, its harsh rays warming your body the instant you stepped out of the hotel room. Turning to the left, you smirked at the Russian assassin as put her hat on. She looked great today. Her hair was braided to the side and left to fall freely down her shoulders. Her black tank top and matching shorts made you feel hot just looking at her. “You do realise you’re going to melt in all black.” You quirked, raising a brow. She met your gaze with a challenging look.
“That’s what the ocean is for.” She responded with a smirk of her own. You glanced between her and the ocean it was quite beautiful, the sun was scattering its rays across the clear water giving the illusion that the sea was sparkling with every wave. You took a deep breath and grinned. You loved the sea air. It reminded you of when you were little and would visit the beach with your parents.
“It smells great.” You sighed, looking at Natasha. She took a sniff and pulled a face.
“It smells like fish… and salt.”
You laughed at her; she smiled back at you. It was one of those rare smiles that was so genuine it made your heart stutter. She never shows this side to anyone, but you being the love of her life it was different she knew she could be vulnerable around you, she knew she could be herself never having to put on a show of fakeness for you because she knows you could see straight through it. You grabbed her hand and began to tug her to the sea.
“You see… I never… I never actually agreed to go in the water.” Natasha muttered, stopping at the shoreline. You assessed her, her eyes were darting to and from the sea to you and then it clicked… she’s never done this before.
“Is this your first time at the beach?” You asked attentively. Her green eyes snapped up to yours and you could see her walls go up. She gave you a look.
“No. I’ve been to the beach… on the sand. I’ve killed people on a beach but-”
“Sweetheart, there’s no need to be embarrassed. I’d never been on a picnic before I met you. Remember?” You smiled softly at her. She grinned at you.
“I remember… sorry for the hostility I just-”
“We’re embarrassed, but it’s okay detka (baby) do you trust me?” You asked holding out your hand she looked at it and then at you before nodding.
“Of course.” She said, taking your hand. You slowly backed up, the water tricking across your feet. Natasha’s eyes lit up as the sensation tickled her. Pulling her deeper into the ocean until you were both submerged up to your neck. The water moved softly around you, as if it could sense Natasha’s hesitation. Your hands rested firmly on her waist and hers clung to your shoulders, her nails digging in slightly
“See not so bad right.” You smile. She nods letting you go she moved, so she was floating on her back looking at the sky with a relaxed smile on her face. You mirrored her actions as your hand automatically reached out and caught ahold of hers. Natasha loved how you’d always find away to be touching her, even if it was just as simple as your knees brushing together slightly.
“You know we have more chance of dying in a plane crash than getting eaten by a shark.” You announced and Natasha stood again turning to you she gave you an exasperated look and you just nodded. “It’s true.”
“You are full of useless facts, you know that right?”
“Useless facts like jellyfish and lobsters are biologically immortal… they don’t grow old and die, they won’t die unless they’re killed so think of that next time you eat a lobster you never know your lobster may be a thousand years old.” You shrug after your little speech. Natasha just stared at you, occasionally blinking. Without warning, she splashed you, the water going in your eyes and mouth. You spluttered out the water, a playful glare in your eyes.
“Oh, it’s on.” You smirked, splashing her back. You got her right in the face. With a squeal, you began to run back to shore. Natasha was hot on your heels. Her hands circled your waist as she took a deep breath. You knew what was gonna happen, so you copied her. She hauled the both of you underwater. A happy feeling settled in your stomach as she pulled you into her. Her kiss came shortly after. The water surrounded you as your lips pressed together. Resurfacing your lips, moving against hers at a quickened pace.
When you were sure you had to breathe, you pulled back with a goofy grin on your face. “Wanna go grab a drink?” You smiled. She nodded.
“We both know I can drink you under any table any place in the world.” She boasted, you scoffed, rolling your eyes.
“Yeah, you wish.”
She narrowed her eyes at you, not likening this challenge. “You’re gonna regret this tomorrow, but a challenge is a challenge.” She smirked
You hoped she wasn’t right about this.
———
The night started off with showers to get rid of the salt water in your hairs. Then you both dressed accordingly. Natasha was wearing tight jeans, a nice shirt, and a jacket with lots of pockets. And you were wearing dark navy jeans and a white blouse. With your favourite black leather jacket that was actually Natasha’s, she smiled when she saw it.
Getting to the bar, you walked straight up to the bar. You flashed the bartender your warmest smile and looked at Natasha. “Twelve shots of your best vodka please.” He nodded and began pouring them.
“You’re sure about this.”
You turned to her and smirked. “Do you know what I’m hearing… someone trying to back out an iron clad deal.” I teased she smirked.
“Okay, I warned you.”
He slid the shots in front of you, and you handed half to Nat. She smiled, but you could see the warning in her eyes. You winked at her before grabbing your first shot. You tapped your glasses together in cheers before downing it. The alcohol burned your throat, but you remained impassive and you weren’t even sure if it bothered Natasha. Which worried you. Because you were stubborn and wanted to win. You began downing the other shots and called the bartender to line up some more.
The night went on and you got increasingly more drunk. You had, in fact, much to your dismay, lost and Natasha was as smug as ever. She too was drunk, but was better at hiding it. You stood on the table and sent her a wink. She laughed at you. “Come on, get down.” She laughed, holding her out her hand. You stuck your tongue out at her, placing your hands on your hips.
“Not until y-you admit I- won-win.” You slurred. She nodded, but you took her hand, pulling her up onto the table with you. You twirled her around and she stopped just in front of you, placing her hands on your waist.
“Come on.” She said getting down you followed her but your foot slipped, you let out a small scream as you fell. Natasha’s eyes widened. You braced for impact, only it never came. Instead, Natasha was cradling you in her chest. You grinned playfully, biting her neck. She squealed softly. “Let’s get you home.”
“I can- I can walk y’know.”
She smiled. “I know.” You smiled into her neck as she continued to carry you, you snuggled into her. She made it seem so effortless as she carried you. You made it all the way back to the hotel, and you were getting anxious about people seeing you like this with Nat.
“You can let me down now I know you don’t want people to see this. Us.” I whispered. She stopped setting you down. Her face was pulled into a hard scowl.
“That’s the biggest load of shit I’ve heard this year.” She stated. You looked away, a smile forming on your lips. You held out your hand, and she gripped it tightly. You were still very much drunk, so every step was harder than the last and you struggled to remain standing. But you made it to the elevator only tripping when you were inside. Natasha couldn’t help but laugh as she helped you up. She was giggling about it all the way back to your room. You looked at her and rolled your eyes, a happy smile on your lips.
Natasha opened the door for you and instead of getting changed, you just flopped onto the bed. Natasha sat at the edge of the bed, her fingers working at the clasps of your shoes. She pulled them off and tossed them onto the floor before doing the same to her own. You watched quietly as she undressed herself. You couldn’t take your eyes off her as she quickly changed. You managed to shrug her jacket that was now by default your jacket off. You couldn’t find the energy to take your pants off, so you just didn’t.
Natasha helps you take them off, her hands brush delicately against your skin causing your heart to beat faster inside your chest. She crawled up to you, seeming hesitant at first. You cuddled into her, resting your head on her chest. You could hear the quickened beating of her heart as her arm wrapped around you, holding you tightly.
“Mmhm you smell nice.” You sigh, burying your face into the crook of her neck. You heard and felt her chuckle as she softly ran her free hand through your hair softly.
“You’re gonna be so hungover tomorrow.” She grinned.
“Well, at least I have you to help me through it.
“You’ll always have me.”
