It seems she enjoyed the summer. Hmm, I have a feeling this is going to turn into a big problem.
I hope I don't get banned for this post.
These days, I never know what's going to happen.
Got that sexy summer tan in the works

Every few years I do a little doodle of the Animorphs just to see where my headcanons for them are at, and last time I ran into a very stupid question I had never considered-what are the chances that Rachel, a teenager into fashion in the 2000s, would suntan? (If she had the time I mean, alien invasions are a bitch.)
Like. Suntanning was a thing well into the 2000s, according to Final Destination 3 at least. I vaguely remember fashion models being tanned when I was a kid? But it just seems absurd lmao. But yeah.
(I think suntanned Rachel could be a fun visual to pair with pasty ass, freckles and bursts into fire in the sun Tobias. Especially since he fully lives outside)
I mean, I hate to say it but tanning is still a thing today. People on my college campus do it all the time, because I guess when you're young and you're white melanoma is a problem for another day.
So I do like to think that morphing would cure a tan, but if that's true then of course we're once again getting into complicated questions of what "counts" as damage. Do scars count? Do freckles? Do your cells up-regulating melanin count? Does a burn count? (Seems like it'd have to.)
But yes, I agree that Rachel would almost certainly tan if she has the chance. She's ultra fashion-conscious and that was even more fashionable for white girls at the time than it is today. And she'd definitely stand out against Tobias, who most certainly does not go sun-tanning at the beach. Unless it happens accidentally when he's there as a human in #27 or #33.
