#sunanoshiro is freaking awesome. Love the entire story. The ugliness of human feeling, tragedy, trust, and love all comes out feel so real..
Will the typhoon hit tokyo ? I'm flying there this Friday
From the information available this morning, which is very likely to change and improve, as all weather forecasts do, the typhoon will come on Friday, but by that time the winds will be down to 30-40km/h.On the Beaufort wind scale this is described as 'strong breeze: Large branches move, wires whistle, umbrellas are difficult to control.'PLEASE check the weather websites each day for updates as a lot can happen in a few days with the weather predictions. I’ve known multiple instances of people saying a typhoon was coming that changed course, went back out to sea and never arrived. You can check the Narita airport website here too. If it’s really bad they’ll have to make adjustments to your flight (re-route/re-schedule), I hope the airline doesn’t need to do this. sources I’ve used for info for this message:http://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/western-pacific/2014/Typhoon-Neogurihttp://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/neoguri-to-become-a-super-typh/29954152 (This has a video with quite a detailed analysis in English)http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/beaufort.html
PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT A METEOROLOGIST, THE FOLLOWING IS MY OWN OPINION & COMMENT:When typhoons make landfall they rapidly start to loose energy and so Okinawa then Kyushu will get the worst hit, by the time it reaches Tokyo it will probably be significantly weakened. It looks likely that there will be a storm, how bad is difficult to say, especially so many days in advance. It’ll be classed, according to current data, as a tropical storm by that point, so will already have weakened a lot. I think if the weather is bad enough to be a risk flights will be cancelled/re-scheduled, as it’s not like they don’t know this is coming. Check with your carrier on Thursday for updates. Good luck!
