Electra: You’ve seen me take pills every morning, haven’t you? Have I ever seemed sick to you?
Cypress: No, but--
Electra: Do you know what those pills are, Cypress?
Cypress: No, Mom.
Electra: They’re antidepressants.
Cypress: You don’t--
Electra: I’ve been managing my depression for a long time, sweetie. But sometimes I still can’t get out of bed.
Cypress: That doesn’t mean that--
Electra: I know it doesn’t mean anything. But I see myself, early on, in you right now. And depression can be more likely in the children of somebody who has it. And I want you go get help early, if you need it.
Cypress: Mom, I....I don’t want to have depression.
Electra: I don’t want you to, either, baby. But if you do have it, I want you to be okay.
