#sunbeam tag #sunbeam wc #sunbeam #<- ok well actually she's sunpaw here but still #berryheart #my berryheart design was kind of slapped together in five minutes for the sake of this post #I like to imagine her sunbeam and needletail all look a lot alike and also extremely different at the same time #anyway this post refers to specifically two lines of dialogue from berryheart #that being one in river where she mentions that there were a few shadowclan cats she wanted to set spireclaw up with (???)#and a second in shadow where she says to nightheart that she always imagined sunbeam with a shadowclan tom #there's also lines from sunbeam's aunt gullswoop in sky that feed into this a little #anyway this post is about sunbeam being pushed into cycle of amatonormativity because marriage and kids is seen as an expectation in wc #and how that was probably pushed 9nto berryheart and her siblings and how berryheart pushes that view onto her kids (specifically sunbeam)#theres more but im too tired to go on right now goodnight #artbeam

lightleap and sunbeam are both absent parents in different ways. lightleap is like her kids cool aunt who shows up once a year and teaches them how to do skateboard tricks because she isn't sure what else to do with them and she doesn't want them to realise she's kind of a loser so they don't fully process how little she's around until they're much older. sunbeam is the looming shadow haunting her kids narrative who is always just barely out of reach but still there enough for them to think of a life that could've been if she was less miserable and she hates herself for the distance between them but she would rather not know them at all than risk having them live the same childhood she did with berryheart
