GORE/CANNIBALISM (?) WARNING

His teeth sink hesitantly into the fruit, bitter skin sharp on his tongue, but then it’s sweet. Juice runs down his chin, his palm, soft flesh slipping down his throat. There’s no aftertaste of copper, no heavy sting in his nose, just a cool bite and then-There’s salt on his tongue as he sinks to his knees, stomach roiling. It’s not a person. And he can still swallow; can still eat. Won’t starve on this paradise. Must now live with the knowledge that every person he’d snapped and drained dry didn’t have to be fed to him - that every time he’d cupped his hands around the spray of blood from a severed artery to drink, he didn’t-The fruit tastes worse coming back up.
