15 years have passed.  The apartments are all empty now, they never did that well anyway.  The buildings are torn down and the land is being returned to its natural state.  Maybe they'll put a park in.  Something to make some money back.  They plant the trees back, re-dig the river and flood it back.  

She's a young woman now, but she goes to the park anyway.  She walks along the bank of the River.  She looks up.  It's been years, but she remembers him anyway.  He takes her hand and they walk down into the water.  She won't ever walk back out.  But it's okay.

Kahaku and Chihiro are together again.  It will always be okay.
