The first ‘class’ that Starscream takes is in the back alleys of one of Cybertron’s many, many shitholes, but that one couldn’t have been more pedestrian, so it doesn’t count. Starscream’s real first class—not some bootleg cribbed off of mechs who failed out of training and life and have nothing else to their name, not some half-drunk lesson from students stupid enough to believe him when he cooed over their gormless struts— anyways, it comes on a campus, in the tall glistening towers of a research academy that’s the most beautiful thing that Starscream had ever seen.

He doesn’t know that it’s just polish on rust yet, but he’ll learn that too, eventually.
