I'm so sorry to anyone who's following this account for fic updates. I've had a shit week and I haven't had enough brain to write, so instead I'm fucking around with OCs on HeroForge.
An update to Keshet the Sunfire tailor's connections:
More images below the cut, along with further information.
Engineer:
To be fair, the engineer's horns should be significantly smaller than that, he's got Moonshadow sized horns here when they should be like. Karim's. And also not ridged. But it was the best I could do. He's an engineer who specializes in small moving parts, like clocks, the lock on this little arcane ball he's examining here, and crucially, the inner workings of magical prosthetics. That's what he spends most of his time doing, actually, is working on those. He's incredibly meticulous and detail-oriented, with immense focus when he gets started on a task. (His markings should also be sharper lines, and they might fit better in a V facing upwards? Idk it's hard to picture rn) He stands about 6'2", so notably shorter than Keshet, but he's built broader than them and almost as strong.
He definitely doesn't make a habit of sleeping with clients, but Keshet ended up being an exception. They're enamored with his singleminded focus and hypercompetence, and the fact that he isn't fazed by their anything is like catnip to them. He likes how outspoken and relaxed they are, too, without the harsh bluntness of most of Lux Aurea. He can do some magic but it's mostly in the same form as Ethari, where it's craft magic more than outright fire spells like Karim would use. He's polyamorous and bisexual, but also shy as all fuck, and he admires Keshet's showiness. The monocle is spelled to work as a magnifying glass when he needs one. The scar over his eye happened in a dumb teenage accident he would rather not talk about. (he and his brother were fucking around cutting each other's hair and someone's hand slipped with a blade. He lost the other eyebrow piercing in it, too, and he was too mortified to go back and get it redone once the wound healed.)
Mage
The mage is a traveler much like Ibis, who goes from caravan to caravan offering her services. The eye patch and the red on her belt are gifts from Keshet, while the gold bracelet is a gift from the engineer. The scars on the right side of her face are from a mage fight she lost years ago, with another sky mage - lightning does a number on you, even as a mage specializing in it. Though her nose is naturally hooked, she broke it years ago and the resulting knob definitely highlights the hook. She's very focused for a Skywing elf, not easily distracted from problems, and it makes her a bit of an odd one out among her own people, as does how reserved she is. She's very helpful and a decently powerful mage, though she's no archmage, though, so whoever she chooses to travel with is generally grateful for her presence.
She was charmed by Keshet when visiting their shop passing through Lux Aurea one year, and kept coming back for more. They help to pull her out of her own head when she starts overthinking, and she takes comfort in their warmth. Similarly, she pulls them back on track when they get scattered, and it creates a comfortable balance for both of them. She held out on sleeping with them for the first few years despite being given a standing invitation, and when she finally gave in and stayed the night she woke up with the decision made that she was going to make a go of this relationship, and she wouldn't be leaving with the caravan that year. She can fly out to several nearby villages to satisfy the Skywing urge to wander, after all.
She only stands about five feet tall, so even with her horns she comes up to about Keshet's chest. They both find this incredibly charming.
The mage and the engineer got together through Keshet. Initially they were both just aware the other was with the tailor, but over time as Keshet drew closer with both of them and they saw each other more, the trio became more of a unit. The engineer's love for Keshet was a very slow growing thing, that startled him more by realizing it had been there for a long time than by suddenness. His affection for the mage hit him hard and fast after getting to know her, and she fell for him just as quickly as she did for Keshet, with fewer reservations since she'd already decided to stay in Lux Aurea.
