I've been trying to read some ipkknd fanfiction (longer length, multi chapter ones, I've mostly read oneshots till now) but oh boy, finding any where their characters are similar to that in the show is next to impossible for me 😭

Sooo many fics have Anjali + literally everyone but Khushi turn into a villain with no real motivation and then Khushi is basically a saint with "selfless" as her only defining trait 😞 oh and not to mention, Arnav being a careless and inattentive husband and always veering between being a casual f-boy to virgin before marriage and Lavanya/Sheetal/any ex-gf turning into vamps 🥲

Like, imo the writers tried to subvert those ITV tropes by not unnecessarily making everyone cartoonish villains and yet the audience insists on seeing what they want to see. Sometimes I do think itv is the way it is because the audience is not ready to be progressive 😕

And if I start talking about Anjali... Poor lady got gaslighted and manipulated to hell and back, and yet I see comments calling her pick-me, manipulative, selfish, brainless etc etc... there are so many fics where *Arnav* is telling her to face the consequences of her actions and grow up??? Like wtf?? What actions? Loving and trusting her husband?? She didn't harm anyone, and no way in hell would Arnav *or* Khushi diminish her struggles like that.

Those fics are basically what ipkknd would be if the writers followed typical evil saas-nanad trope and I'm honestly glad the writers didn't do that.

If anyone has good multi chapter arshi fics where everybody is somewhat in character, pls help 😭

You know that's a sentiment I feel when endless Imlie spinoffs and Anupama still continues to work on TV.

I also, legit, stand by Anjali. Girl was not wrong. Her husband gave her no reason to be suspicious (we just knew from the first day cause we were told so and we were told to ship Arnav-Khushi).

And Arnav is hated for not being Anjali - i.e., trust Khushi blindly.

And Anjali is hated for not being Arnav - i.e., trust Shyam blindly.

Honestly, it's been ages since I've read a proper fanfic but my fav spot used to be the IPK ficverse!

i just read that one line in chapter 11 where dan's noticing how soft phil's hands are and was thinking "yeah, phil's hands do look like they'd be really soft, that's true" and then i remembered dan has literally Said that Out Loud in a video, like- my god they're so gay. and so obvious about it. i feel crazy for saying this it's such a small thing but wow - 🌻

Gosh, I've been so behind on AO3 comments and by extention also my tumblr inbox and this really does hit harder after the hard launch. They have said so many gay things about each other and it's only going to get so much worse now (terrified and excited).
