This is a super belated response to this meme from last night! I am very sorry for whatever this is i say after i specifically asked for it. But thank you to Denise and Sereena and Dede who all sent me Hojong ♥ - you guys know me too well ㅠㅠ
Ok ok. Hojong story scenarios under the cut~ uwu
1. Fake dating.
Sungjong gets advanced placement in his college and gets moved up to dorm with the upperclassmen, where he ends up staying in a room right next to Howon's. They become friends pretty fast because Sungjong's determined to make connections and succeed with the privilege he's been given in the school.
Part of this also includes avoiding romantic inquiries, from both guys and girls - and his ever-curious mother - so he proposes to Howon that they'll pretend to be together just for the year to avoid any distraction.
Howon's basically a pushover for Sungjong from day one so he agrees. They hang out constantly, and the 'dating' premise doesn't really interfere with their genuine growing friendship. Only, after a while, Howon finds himself acting a bit more protective than he needs to be when people ask Sungjong for his number or stay up late with him in study groups, and maybe for him, it's not just a little favor after all.
On the day of finals, Howon and Sungjong meet in the quad, and Howon quietly says how it was kind of nice being Sungjong's fake boyfriend for the year, and Sungjong nods, smiles, and asks him if he would consider the idea of trying it out for real.
2. Bodyswap.
BTD-era. Howon is set to wake up earlier than the rest of the group due to his practice schedule, and it doesn't take him more than a few seconds to realize something is terribly different. His hands are not his hands, his skin is too pale and flawless, and his legs feel half as heavy as they did the night before.
Across from him he looks in Sungjong's bed for the head of blonde hair that should be peeking from the covers and he sees short and black instead. All over, his body begins to shiver. His heart feels like it's going to shake out of his skin. He doesn't want to look or feel any part of 'himself', it feels like a violation.
Howon closes his eyes, reaches for his phone on the side table, and calls the first person on his list of contacts. Jungryul answers tiredly, having clearly just woken, and Howon shakily opens his mouth to speak. "Hyung," he says in a voice light as air and terribly unlike his own, "I don't think Hoya-hyung's feeling well, and he may be a bit late today. You stay in bed, I'll be sure to look after him."
He puts the phone aside and stares at the image of himself that sleeps across the room, just waiting for him to wake up.
3. Sexpollen/fuck or die/aliens made them do it.
( ゚_ゝ゚) Nah.
4. Dark!fic.
Inspired by the Paradise MV. The seven are newly living together in an old house, but none of them are particularly close. The story is told in Howon's point of view as he gets to know each member in order.
Sunggyu is hard to get along with and easy to detest, Dongwoo is passive and uncomfortably simple to please, Woohyun is never satisfied, Sungyeol is selfish and mostly uncaring, Myungsoo is easily resentful, and Sungjong barely gives Howon any attention. Howon cares little for the others but is fascinated and tempted by Sungjong, to the point of obsession.
The ending reveals that each member is a spirit, the personified form of one of the Deadly Sins - Sunggyu is wrath, Dongwoo sloth, Woohyun greed, Sungyeol gluttony, Myungsoo envy, Sungjong pride, and Howon lust.
5. Secret kinks.
Howon gets totally, utterly into anything considered traditionally 'un-dominant' (like oral sex… which is hardly a submissive thing when you think about it but for the sake of the story I like to imagine he wouldn't have thought that far ahead, uh), and he's far too strong-willed to ever admit he'd love the idea of bottoming or giving head or even begging for sex. Of course Sungjong works it out of him in the tiny, quietly intentional slips of his hands and the way Howon's eyes glaze over when Sungjong even so much as references these sorts of things.
Sungjong's kink is dominance, as ironic as it is, although it's hardly a secret. Howon's observant and he can see the little flashes of Sungjong's commandeering side through the impassive exterior he favors. It's startling, sometimes, how present and strong it is in Sungjong, and it may have a bit to do with why Howon's so reluctant to admit to his persuasion.
Sungjong will work it out of him, though, and they both know it.
6. Their first kiss.
None of the members usually exchange presents within the group when it comes to birthdays, but for Howon's 22nd Sungjong feels it'd be wrong to just do nothing, but he can't think of what he can do. Later in the evening he sits on the edge of Howon's bed, watching his hyung while he's changing his clothes for sleep and asks if Howon had a good day, if he got what he wanted. Howon's feeling a little daring thanks to the alcohol he allowed himself and saysalmost.
"Hmm," Sungjong muses, crossing his legs under himself. "Well, who says your birthday is over? We still have the week. What would you like?"
Howon finishes pulling his shirt on and shrugs. "It's nothing I can ask you for."
"You can ask me for anything. Why, is it very hard to get?"
Howon stares at Sungjong's face, letting his eyes drift openly to Sungjong's lips and then he blinks.
"In a matter of speaking."
Realization hits Sungjong and he subconsciously presses his lips together as he stands up. "Okay. What if you just didn't ask for it?"
They exchange tiny, reassuring smiles before Howon crosses over to the bed and takes Sungjong's face in his hands. "Happy birthday, now," Sungjong mutters, and closes the distance between them.
7. Meeting the parents.
Set sometime predebut when the band has been formed and everyone is getting to know each other. Sungjong's parents come up from the south in order to spend time with him, and they stay for dinner at the dorm (kind of like that episode of BOAF I guess!).
It's the first time Howon has ever really been around them like this, where they really get a chance to talk. Just something very introspective and calm, a character study where talking to Sungjong's parents and realizing how ambitious and bright and remarkable Sungjong is makes Howon feel really proud and admiring and maybe even a little sad.
8. Moving in together.
Because he's busy with his tour and because Sungjong is smarter with this kind of thing, Howon trusts Sungjong with finding a place to move them into. They agree on the place, and Sungjong spends a week Howon is abroad getting it set up for his return.
Howon comes back to Seoul for a few days rest, and expects to come home to an immaculately decorated and pristine apartment. Instead there is their old shared books crammed onto secondhand shelves, still unpacked boxes of dishes in the kitchen and a mattress in the middle of the living room floor, the room with the fantastic view that was the selling point in the first place.
Howon expected Sungjong to take the chance and use his time and money to make them something out of a catalogue, but instead he made a home. It's familiar and it's warm and it's perfect.
9. A crossover of my choice.
You've Got Mail! In which they are business rivals; Howon is the heir to a corporate fortune, Sungjong manages a small shop, and their respective friends never hear the end of their loathing for each other. Only they just so happen to be long-term penpals without ever realizing each other's true identities. Romance sparks through the messages, and eventually Howon figures it all out. He becomes torn between honoring his family's legacy and following his heart - that is to say if Sungjong would even want anything to do with him if he knew the truth.
10. An AU of my choice.
Alternate universe in which Howon did in fact become a cop and Sungjong followed a similarly ordinary career path. They meet on a train when they're going into Seoul for work, talk for hours and then part ways. Coincidentally, they cross paths again on the way back, only this time they make a mutual, spontaneous decision to screw their obligations and embark on an absurd and frivolous journey together.
