We visited the beautifully ornate Wat Rong Khun during our short stay in Chiang Rai. You enter the temple by crossing over hundreds of outstretched hands. The bridge crossing symbolizes the path to happiness by surpassing worldly temptations, greed, and desire. The temple is unique in that it is completely white and covered with small mirror pieces. The former symbolizes the purity of the Buddha, while the latter symbolizes the Buddha's wisdom. Warning! This is not the temple to forget sunglasses for. I found it painfully stunning and not sure what it say's about me since I was blinded by it's purity and wisdom. Jessa, having worn her sunglasses, blissfully enjoyed every detail of this inspiring temple.
