          she didn’t  have  to go to urgent care with them  ,  no  ,  but who would she be if she  broke  someones nose and  didn’t  take them to get  pain  meds  ?  the tension is  awkward  and she’s tapping her knee with her index finger as they  wait  to be seen  ,  emerald orbs  glancing  over at her  victim  .  ❝  i am  so  sorry .  ❞  that was  probably  the eleventh time she’s  apologized  since the incident happened  ,   ❝  on the  bright  side  ,  the bloody nose kinda goes with your costume .  which is ,  like ,  super  cool . . .  by the way .  ❞

she  had  been  at  this  job  for  over  a  month  now  and  north  was  determined  to  prove  that  she  was  worthy  especially  since  the  hot  gossip  around  the  building  was  that  she  had  only  been  hired  as  the  boss’  assistant  because  she  was  attractive …  and  north  felt  tremendous  guilt  because  it  was  true  ,  not  only  did  he  straight  up  tell  her  but  the  fact  that  they  had  slept  with  one  another  a  total  of  three  times  made  it  incredibly  obvious  too  .  the  brunette  decided  to  stop  messing  around  with  her  boss  ,  much  to  his  dismay  and  she  was  glad  when  she  did  as  not  long  after  the  male’s  son  ,  who  was  thankfully  around  north’s  age  ,  began  hanging  around  the  offices  and  the  pair  hit  it  off  almost  instantly  .  from  going  to  movies,  texting  each  other  constantly  ,  going  out  for  meals  ––  north  could  really  see  herself  being  in  a  relationship  with  this  boy  until  his  father  found  out  and  told  the  female  to  end  things  with  his  son  .  of  course  ,  north  couldn’t  bring  herself  to  do  it  and  so  all  she  did  was  avoid  him  and  ignore  his  messages  ,  it  was  working  well  until  a  few  days  later  when the  female  was  sitting  in  her  office  ,  sending  emails  when  her  boss’  son  came  bounding  through  the  door  .  ‘  uh  ,  hey  .  ’  north  greeted  him  nervously  .  ‘  what  are  you  doing  here  ?  ’

❛   ——   oh?  don’t  worry,  I’m  not  expecting  a  ‘ thank  you ’  anytime  soon. ❜  inherent  displeasure,  though  such  a  thing  is  far  from  uncommon,  is  readily  on  display.  his  spine  still  remains  stiff  and  rigid  —  a  stance  bred  for  caution,  there  was  nothing  to  stop  the  other  from  doing  something  he  might  not  expect.  he  knew  that  in  this  new  world  people  would  do  anything  for  survival,  there  was  probably  no  limit  to  what  they  would  be  willing  to  do  and  when  stuck  between  living  or  having  that  decision  taken  away  …  he  knew  the  choice  was  easy  as  hell.  thankfully  he  possessed  enough  confidence  in  his  abilities  and  his  fabricated  persona  to  devour  any  anxiety  he  may  have.  the  female  had  caught  and  held  his  attention  and  unsurprisingly  enough  he  was  no  stranger  to  instigating   ;   poking  and  prodding  to  see  how  far  he  could  push  a  person.  cue  the  arching  of  lucas’s  brows,  gaze  narrowing  ever  so  slightly  illustrating  further  that  he  does  not  trust  her  yet  a  small  grin  etched  upon  his  features.  ❛  but  i  definitely  just  saved  your  ass  back  there.  ❜  it  is  within  his  tone  that  implies  authority,  a  self-inflicted  belief  of  superiority.  ❛  care  to  explain  why  you’re  sneaking  around,  acting  suspicious  ?  ❜

harvey’s lived this moment a thousand times before ,  but it’s different this time ,   because it’s real ,  and not simply an imagining of his own personal heaven  .   fingers clutch tighter onto the sword on his hip ,  breath becoming ragged as devyn comes into view .   the instinct to run to her and wrap himself around her frame is almost too hard to conquer ,  but with a clearing of his throat ,  he sinks down onto his knees ,  head bowed in silent reverence .   then ,  he’s raising his head ,  lungs sucking in a deep breath .   when he speaks ,  there is no hesitation in his voice .   ❝    i am here to swear fealty to the princess ,   ❞   eyes remain firmly locked onto hers ,  his own alight with passionate flame .   ❝    i will defend her until my dying breath .    ❞   the seraph near the prince’s side is just as ethereal as she was before she was wrenched from his grasp ,  and for the first time in what could only be an eternity ,  a smile forms at the edge of his lips .          (    based on this !    @sunhazed    )
