At one point, Sunncom underwent a rebranding and redesign that lasted the better part of a decade. The redesign consisted of an older-looking, "cooler" design, colloquially known as "Sexycom".
Due to immense backlash from longtime fans of the mascot, but debatably moreso from the rise of a specific type of artwork featuring the character, the redesign was soon scrapped and the original design reinstated.
Sunncom doesn’t like talking about it.
