Realized im still obsessed with this fic (fuck jkr tho) and wanted to share my most complete version of it. ignore the unfinished table of contents this has all chapters published as of feb 2023 plus bonus ending from sunnys now deleted blog. some names have been adjusted by me, two bc sunny changed them in the rewrite, one bc i got attached, sorry.

This was hands down one of THE BEST books I've ever read like holy cow it was so much better than the Harry potter books themselves

So, I'm always always happy to nerd out about snakeskins, and I love it so much, but.

I did not actually write it.

I shared my personal doc of it with the proposed ending after Sunny's blog was deleted but all that's in it is the fanfition.net version with some changed names for my own reading experience. Like I used Lukas Bondevik for Norway because sunny used that in the original version and I think I took the names for the siblings from the ao3 rewrite iirc because they're the correct Italian version.

Yeah that's in that, some blog posts of the now deleted @lsunnyc blog and an ao3 snippet I commissioned from sunny. But yeah I did not actually write it sorry for the misunderstanding 🙈. I tried to make it a bit clearer in the post!

I was HAPPY! You (sunruner; do you even have a tumblr?) made me laugh and smile for once in this 40 chapter long goddamn amazing story. Things were looking up, but NO. Chapter 34 just went and ripped my heart out once again. I just want to hold South Italy close and just tell him that he's doing a good job because I don't know anything more this Nation needs right now. He's falling apart and his brothers are paying for it which only increases his self-deprecation and self-loathing. I haven't even gotten to the reunion between North Italy and Germany but I'm pretty sure it'll end up being a shit-fest after what went down. And I hate Germany right now. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him.

I will say one thing, I'm a little upset of how the other Nations relations with America are being treated in this story. America is literally fighting a battle against the very people he sworn to serve and (probably) even protect. AND NO ONE IS EVEN QUESTIONING WHY AMERICA STOPPED SHOWING UP TO FUCKING MEETINGS? NO ONE IS QUESTIONING WHY HE HAS KEPT TO HIMSELF? NO ONE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE, AFTER EVERY-FUCKING-THING THAT HAPPENED IN THAT GODFORSAKEN MANSION, AMERICA NEEDED A LITTLE TLC!? BECAUSE FROM THIS READER'S PERSPECTIVE, THE OTHER NATIONS ABANDONED HIM. THEY HAD THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO HELP THEM, BUT NO ONE (NOT EVEN AMERICA'S BROTHER CANADA) BOTHERED TO CONSOLE HIM. CALL ME FUCKING PATRIOTIC I DON'T CARE, BUT I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SOMEONE WOULD KNOW BETTER!

I read way too much of this story today and I know I have because it's affecting my mood and emotions too heavily. It's why I stop after one or two, but I'm pretty sure I just read like eight or nine chapters. One of the few stories to make me feel raw emotion to the point where I have to read more, past the wee hours of the morning, just hoping and praying things will get better. I've never felt this hopeless while reading...
