Groggy afternaps and mk2s
i took a late afternoon nap today
i havent been feeling quite well these few days because of a sore throat, and the fact that ive been staying up late isnt really helping. i ended up feeling a bit sleepy today after lunch, especially because i ate basically 2 portions of food.
.
i woke up when the sun was going down. i think ive said it before here, but sometimes you get that feeling of being lonely after a nap. well i kinda got that, and also i felt a bit groggy
but also, if youve read my posts, i also said that i havent felt like that in years. id assume that i didnt feel it at all because i was sad all the time
well that means that ive been feeling kinda happy these days then, because i can feel lonely when i woke up.
thats a nice outlook.
.
afterwards, i decided to make some tea.
i figure it would feel nice watching the sun set while drinking some tea. i got some Prendjak tea from indonesia, which in my opinion is the best tea ever.
while making it, the evening sun light lit the kitchen with a red rosy hue. i also cleaned the kitchen a bit while waiting for the electric kettle to boil. I pulled one of the cabinets on the kitchen because i knew at least one rice spoon has slipped down behind it. I remembered something from yesterday while doing that.
.
yesterday was my roommates birthday. since 2 days before it, his current girlfriend has contacted me and asked me to throw him some little surprises. long story short, it was quite tedious, but yesterday i went out to buy some noodles and some ingredients to make birthday noodles.
while going back, on the intersection in front of my apartment, i saw an old dusty dark green mk2 golf, lowered on some kind of golden bbs ra. 2 young dudes are riding on it and just stopped on the redlight.
ive seen some cool cars when i was waiting on that intersection, since its one of the arteries in my city, so i assume lots of people when through it daily. ive always found myself easily fascinated by them, but never really told the owners how i like their car because, firstly, ofcourse its a red light, and secondly im just a bit shy about it and never really mustered up my confidence to say it anyway.
well yesterday while walking infront of it on the crossing, i was staring at the car constantly, and when the owner glanced back at me, i instinctively gave him a thumbs up. he thumbed up back.
feels nice.
.
not long after, when walking up the stairs to my apartment, i remembered this particular day when i drove my car back then. it was a sunny saturday, i think i was either driving to a car meet, or to my friends house. I was wearing a nice t shirt, a pair of sunglasses, and my car was clean and nice.
i was stopping at an intersection, and i remember a guy on his bike gave me a thumbs up.
i never really thought about this particular moment that much, in fact i probably have never thought about it until yesterday, but i think its moments like this that makes you a bit giddy about life sometimes.
i hope the guy on the golf could also remember the encounter we had and feel at least a bit better whenever he felt sad
