I remember this day well. The Y2K (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2000_problem) scare was rampant in the world which turned out to be a non-event when the clock turned over to 2000 since businesses and governments were well prepared to prevent potential disaster. New computer sales skyrocketed during 1999, lol!
