GOOD EVENING, MEMBERS!

We wanted to first thank you for your continued cooperation while we have been holding active discussions about the future of SunsetBlvdHQ. This group would not be the same without you. We have officially decided to remain open, pending major changes! We feel that these changes will benefit the group as a whole, creating a more relaxed and fun environment to write and thrive in. Please read this post carefully to ensure you don't miss anything.

First and foremost, we are opening apps back up again! Any current member or new member who wishes to apply for an FC are now free to do so! If you were here previously, we would be so excited to have you back!

For our current members, we ask that anyone still interested in remaining with us here at SunsetBlvdHQ to please respond to this post with your name and the FCs that you wish to keep within 48 hours of this announcement's posted timestamp. This is to make sure that anyone who wants to stick around will be able to! If you fail to respond within the 48 hours, you will be unfollowed and your role(s) will be re-opened, though we are more than willing to let you re-apply should you still want to stay, if you missed this announcement or weren't able to get back to us in time.

We are also making major changes to our rules. If you wish to have a more in depth look at what we changed, including revisions to our hiatus guidelines, banned list guidelines, and switch guidelines, please feel free to check our rules page. One specific rule change we do want to highlight here is in reference to our activity. The new, revised rule is as follows: In order to be considered an active member, you must be active on your celebrities twice a week (or more if you want!) and write with a minimum of three different muns during that time period to avoid bubbling. We have no minimum requirement for replies, we just ask that you be as active as possible. We want our activity guidelines to be as relaxed as possible to accommodate our members’ needs to ensure a fun, relaxed, and safe space to RP!

We are also extending changes to how we utilize our gossip blog. We will now be doing monthly (and maybe sometimes more!) gossip sessions, typically slated for the end of the month. This means gossip games, asks, and more! However, we encourage you to submit any fresh celeb gossip that you see at any time, and utilize our blind item submission space! The girls at SunsetDeuxmoi can't keep an eye on everything, after all. Look forward to the end of this month for their fresh take on the gossip blog!

In addition to the changes to the gossip blog, we are also making changes to how we handle memes. Memes will now also be done on a monthly basis, usually at the beginning of the month. We will be having a meme this month to start this, so stay tuned for that! We are also now allowing members to submit ideas for memes. If there's one you've seen that you've liked or done previously, send it to us via IM and we might just choose it!

Once again, we appreciate your kindness, patience, and continued cooperation as we navigate this exciting soft revamp. We have been open for almost a year now, and it would not be possible without each and every one of you being great writers and great members. We are planning an incredible comeback event for Pride Month next month, too, and we can't wait for you to see what we've been cooking up. Hello again, members!

For those of you who wish to stick with us in a more closed setting, here's how we will be operating here at SunsetBlvdHQ from this point forward:

First and foremost, if you wish to stick around, please let us know either via IM or in reply to this post with your name/alias and the celebs you wish to keep in the group. If you do not let us know within the next 24 hours, your roles will be opened and your unfollows will be posted. Should you wish to come back, you are more than welcome to.

There will no longer be any activity guidelines, which means there will no longer be activity checks, but rather interest checks once a month. This will let us know who wants to stick around and continue writing in the closed setting with us.

If you wish to bring in any new celebs, all you have to do is send us an ask with the name of the celeb and their blog for us to follow. No need to send us any applications. This is much simpler for everyone involved. There is also no wait time for picking up and dropping celebs. You are free to pick up anyone at any time!

If you wish to drop any celebs, you will follow standard protocol and send us the unfollow with the blog URL.

We will likely still participate in memes to keep the space fun and entertaining!

We will continue to use the OOC blog for any OOC interactions as needed.

Regarding events and such, we will no longer be holding any events from an admin standpoint. However, if any members wish to hold an event (i.e. a party, birthday party, wedding, etc.), then you are free to do so, as long as you send us an IM to the main. The same thing goes for if you wish to go through with a pregnancy plot.

We do still expect everyone to treat their peers with kindness and fairness, which we will still be heavily monitoring as we have zero tolerance for any bullying, harassment, or hate of sorts. That will not change despite this group changing to a closed setting. If we see any of these things happening, you will be removed from the closed group with no hesitations or questions asked.

With all that said, we look forward to continue writing with those of you who wish to stick around!

After much deliberation, and admittedly several tears, we have decided to officially end SunsetBlvdHQ in an official capacity. Please note that this has not been an easy decision, and was not influenced by any outside contention, lack of muse, or lack of membership. We as admins love this group so much, and have spent countless hours making it the best group it could possibly be. However, we feel as though we have struggled lately to dedicate the time to be the best admins we can be, and make this group a great place to write. Rather than try to give half-effort, we have decided that the best thing to do is to close the group as is. However, we are excited to share that we still plan on making this a safe space to write. Those of you who are interested can still stick around with us, and write in a closed, free setting, with no strict guidelines. We'll share more information about that soon, but if you'd like to stick around, please let us know ASAP. If you do not wish to stick around in a closed setting, we ask that you please send us your unfollow(s) to the ask box. If you do not let us know if you wish to stick around in the next 24 hours, we will assume you no longer wish to stay and will post your unfollows simultaneously. We just wanted to take a second to quickly discuss our rules when it comes to posting starters. A majority of our members follow the rule and we cannot thank you all enough for that, however, we do want to refresh everyone's memory just in case. You MUST reply to two (2) starters BEFORE posting your own, whether you're a new member or already existing member. This is not optional, it's a requirement. We have this rule in place to ensure that all starters get the love and attention they deserve. Please also make sure that you are replying to those two starters within a 48-hour (2 day) window of wanting to post your starter. We know things sometimes slip right past us, which is why we're here to remind everyone in case things are ever forgotten about. Especially during the holiday season when things slow down a little bit. It's important to still have the refresh so that when members do get on, they aren't feeling ignored or left out. Thank you!

Good morning, members! There are a couple of things us admins want to discuss that we've been receiving inquiries/concerns about. Firstly, as previously mentioned, we are not at the liberty to be discussing when to have to activity checks as we have not been open for a full week yet. We want to give everyone the time to settle in, including the three of us, before we think about when to have our first one. Secondly, this is a friendly reminder to please be reaching out to members if they are responding to your plot calls. It is essential to this group that no one is being left out, and that includes making sure you are reaching out to everyone that takes the time to reply to your plot call. We also highly encourage members to please come to us off anonymous if you are experiencing any issues at all when it pertains to situations like these, so that we can get a better understanding of how to handle the situation, as well. We want to make sure everyone in this group feels included and welcome, and that starts with making sure members are doing their due diligence when it comes to posting plot/thread calls. This has been an incredible opening week for SunsetBlvdHQ and we once again just want to extend our gratitude to everyone that has been apart of it. We are so immensely grateful for each and every one of you, and we cannot thank you enough!

HELLO, AND WELCOME TO 2025!

With the new year in full swing, we first want to say how grateful we are for each and every one of you. This group has been open for five months now, and the three of us are so grateful to every one of you for being here with us, writing and thriving in this group. One of the big reasons we decided to start Sunset Boulevard was to create a place where everyone felt safe and comfortable to write to their heart's content and we feel like we've achieved that. We look forward to continue to write with you throughout the year! We also wanted to take this opportunity to do a little refresher on some of our guidelines, pointing out a few that we feel need some extra attention and those that have been recently changed. Please read through each of these very carefully!

Activity: This is a reminder to please follow normal activity guidelines. Normal guidelines are as follows: In order to be considered an active member, you must be active on your celebrities at least 3-4 times a week and write with a minimum of three different muns during that time period to avoid bubbling. We also ask that you post at least three (or more!) replies every time you do your replies. This is a change from a previous rule, which stated that we asked for more than one reply. We want our activity guidelines to be as relaxed as possible to accommodate our members’ needs, but also want to make sure no one is taking advantage of them. If we see repeated patterns of lack of activity, we will reach out accordingly.

Starters: We request that all members, including new members, reply to a minimum of two open starters before posting their own, and we will not post your starter to the starter blog unless we see this has been done within 24 hours. This ensures that open starters get the attention they deserve, and older starters aren’t washed out by new ones. You can reply to starters involving any of your muses. If you have two FCs, for example, you can reply to a starter on one FC and a different starter on another FC, and we would consider that acceptable. If you have more than one celebrity and wish to post an open starter for one of them, please ensure you’ve replied to at least two starters from any of your muses within 48 hours before posting your own. Please only post one starter per week, even if you have multiple FCs. We also ask that you only post gif-based starters, and not text-message based. This rule has also been updated with this information to provide more clarity.

Inclusivity: This includes both on the dash and within the OOC blog. Make sure you’re being inclusive to everyone! Reply to as many thread/plot calls as you're able to and, be sure to make starters for anyone who replies to yours (and keep checking for replies to be sure you don’t unintentionally leave anyone out!), and try not to drop threads after only a couple of replies. We especially like to see when people reply to OOC posts even when there's no plot call! We have noticed that not everyone's plot calls are being replied to, or when members are posting plot calls they are not posting starters for everyone, or even that some plot calls are being ignored in favor of others. The last thing we want to have to do is monitor how many or how often members are replying to OOC posts, so please try to reply as often as you are able to, and make sure you are posting starters for everyone who asks!

Memes: Every meme that’s posted has guidelines written on the post, however we have noticed that people are repeatedly not following them. Please only reblog a meme on one muse at a time. Once you’ve sent your asks, you may reblog on an additional muse. Send out to every single person who reblogs the meme, which means checking it periodically throughout the duration for anyone who reblogs after you. We know that tumblr's reblog filter system makes it difficult to see everyone who reblogged it, which is why we update a list under the original post from the meme blog, which is always pinned during the duration of the meme. Most of the time, when you reblog the meme from someone else, it might not have the full list, so we always encourage you to check the pinned post for the full list of meme participants. You should not be answering any asks until you’ve sent out to everyone, and you should only reblog if you’re able to send out in a timely manner. Memes only work if everyone participates fairly! So please try to make sure that you are always checking for the complete list of participants during the 48 hour duration of the meme.

Gossip Blog: This is less of a guideline reminder and more of a casual reminder, but we do have a Gossip Blog! While we as admins will play games on occasion, we do want to remind members that the gossip blog is always open! You don't have to wait for us to send in an ask or submit a blind item! Remember, though, that if you're sending an ask make sure that it is public information! If something is marked as private, especially if it's not your FC, it's not something that should be shared! Only share information if you and the FC and question have agreed on it.

It just felt like a great time to do a little reminder of everything to get us all on the same page, so that way we can make 2025 the best year for us all!
