Zhou was settled into a small nook, hidden away in the back of a library, history book tucked against zeir knees a zey flip through the pages, absorbing the information from other countries zey had not been to when it had happened. Zey avoided all books on late 1600′s China, and everything about America, since reading what zey already knew was boring. Zey also had quite a few books on myths and legends stacked on the floor beside zem, ready for when zey finished with this one.
Zey hear someone approach, their footsteps soft on the carpeted floor but zey ignore them, focused on the book until zeir pile of books shakes, someone having bumped into them, almost sending them toppling. Zey hiss and reach out to steady the pile, eyes raising to look at whoever had bumped zeir books, a frown on zeir face. “I’m sorry, is my out of the way pile of books in your way?”
