it’s nothing. it’s just a bruise. for atsumu.

a twitch of the brow, gaze narrowing as it hones in on the discoloration along the spiker's arm-- skin mottled in varying shades of reddened-purples and blues. he's reached forward instinctively, long fingers wrapping around a smaller wrist, thumb gently, carefully, tracing at the warm skin beneath.
he frowns despite himself, despite shoyo's words of reassurance. it's nothing, he says; it's fine, he says. and, yes, objectively, that were true, he's sure. or, rather, he knows. and he says as much with an, 'i know that.' (he doesn't bother to consider how, exactly, it's muttered either-- a hint of irritation laced within his concern.)
it wasn't as if either of them (or anyone else that they knew, really) were invincible; had never been hurt before. shoyo had certainly bruised before and, admittedly, so had he. and, frankly, if that were the worst to ever happen to either of them, they were lucky. players, after all, sustained far worse injuries than that each and every day.
his feathers are ruffled, however, nonetheless. perhaps because it was a somewhat larger bruise than he was used to seeing-- not that he was ever pleased to see any such shades marring his skin (unless, of course, the mark had come from him). or maybe it was simply the fact that he was just now finding out.
he didn't enjoy not knowing things, being kept in the dark, whether intentionally or not. particularly when they involved his spiker. not that he's assuming, of course, that shoyo had purposefully withheld such information from him.
he huffs something of a sigh, frown now more akin to a pout. he's being stupid, yes. he doesn't care. what affects shoyo, after all, affects him. because shoyo was important to the team.
and because shoyo was important to him.
'why is this the first time i'm seein' this?' if it sounds accusatory, it's not exactly intentional. just as if he shoots shoyo a look, it carries within it little, if any, heat. 'don't remember you showin' me this one before.'
