after thirteen years, hyukjae sometimes feels more at home under hot lights with cameras pointed at him than he does in the privacy of his own home. it's something about the buzz of producers and assistants and the inevitability of eyes turning to him that feels so familiar now, even when he's placed across from someone he doesn't really know.
he's well aware of i:ris. he'd be negligent not to keep up with other idol groups when so much of success in the industry relies on knowing the right people and maintaining relevance. he has details filed away in his mind on all the big names, and i:ris is no exception: kh rookies, their bumpy beginning, yoon sunyoung's varying levels of involvement. with the cameras rolling, he's all business as he enters the set, but those filed-away details float only in the back of his mind, of little use for producing fan content like this. his smile radiates with practiced friendly warmth as he approaches yubin and bows his head politely.
"it's nice to meet you. i'm han hyukjae. i really liked your last comeback." as if to prove it, he mumbles the sample and moves his shoulders just enough to resemble the post-chorus choreography to someone who was really looking for it. quickly, though, his attention turns to the props laid out for their use.
"to be honest, i tried to get someone to sneak me a peek at the flashcards earlier, but they were so secretive that i'm dying to know what's on them."
