She was nervous. Not because she was afraid of Pearl or anything--Amethyst was at a place now where she was past the bulk of her troubles with the older Gem. But training--the need to be stronger--it was still a sensitive subject for Amethyst. And the other Crystal Gems still insisted that she was perfect the way she was.
Sure. She could admit that she needed to stop trying to be Jasper. But she still wanted to keep up. It still bugged her that she wasn’t even on par with Steven. And frankly, practicing with him still made her feel down about herself, although she didn’t want to admit it.
So here she was. She had waited patiently for Pearl to come out of her room, and now she made her move. It was now or never, right?
“Hey, uh... Pearl? You think we can train? ...Just you an’ me?”
sunxshy approached the mirror gem.
Her expression was blank, bangs falling in her face as she stared at the barn wall, knees pulled up to her chest and a neutral expression planted on her face. How long she’d been like this, she didn’t know, but she didn’t really care, either -- it had been at least a few hours, and she hadn’t budged an inch. No, what she was thinking and planning was far too important for her to move around while she tried to come to a conclusion.

Pearl spent a lot of time looking at S. The focus changed though. This time it was the lip piercing. Instead of verbally answering Pearl touched her own bottom lip to try to get across what she meant.
