A few former coworkers from my previous department lost their jobs recently when their positions were eliminated. Budget awfulness, and handled just terribly. One of them is based in my area, and I invited them to apply for an open role on one of my teams. It felt like the least I could do. I can't guarantee a job, but I can guarantee an interview.

But now I have to interview a former coworker. It feels super awkward. Is it awkward? Am I getting to ridiculous?
